About Us
WHO
Craft Architecture is technically a partnership between me, Sam Williams, and my wife, Jen. I am a licensed architect and the primary operator of Craft. Jen is also a licensed architect (and interior designer), but she works full-time at a larger firm where she designs collegiate athletics and recreation facilities. Her role at Craft is moral support, design critic, and general advisor. Together we have three young children that keep us busy in Franklin, MA.
Craft Architecture LLC was formed in 2020, as I transitioned from working at a larger firm on commercial and industrial projects to working for myself on residential projects. Inspired by my father, who owns a residential construction company, but always told me to get an “indoor job”, owning a residential design firm felt like an inevitability.
WHAT
Craft primarily works directly with homeowners to design renovations, additions, and new construction. We also do some residential work with developers and contractors and a little bit of work on commercial projects for small business owners.
With every project, the objective is to “craft” the best solution for you that not only improves the monetary value of your property but also adds to the value of the experience in your space.

HOW
You contact us. Use the “Start Your Project” tab, email, call, text, DM on Instagram or Facebook. We’ll have a quick conversation to discuss the basics of your project and schedule a time to meet in person at the project site.
Once I’ve seen what you are working with and figured out the problems you need to solve, we start developing solutions. This is an iterative process to get the best design that fits your needs. Designs are presented in 2D plans, sections, and elevations, and 3D renderings and fly-throughs.
During design, we work with your builder (or help you find one) to make sure what we are designing is within your budget. We also work with any other consultants that might be needed and make sure we get through any municipal approvals that might be required.
Once we have the design that works, we give you permit-ready construction drawings, and then you are off and running.
